Biography
Rachel Martino
What do you do? I am currently pursuing my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Harvard University. My research examines how stigma, discrimination, and broader social contexts shape emotion processing and mental health across development. Clinically, my training has focused on working with adolescents with anxiety disorders, particularly queer adolescents.
How did the GNSS concentration shape your career? The GNSS concentration played a pivotal role in shaping my research interests in psychology. It helped me bridge disciplines by integrating perspectives on how social structures, norms, and contextual factors influence emotional development and mental health—perspectives often overlooked in traditional psychology training. These insights continue to guide my research on stigma and emotion processing and my clinical work with adolescents.
