Pembroke Center Research Roundtable

An annual research workshop led by Pembroke Center's postdoctoral fellows.

The 2024-2025 Pembroke Seminar Research Roundtable, “Prelude to the End: Addressing a Dying Earth,” was organized by Postdoctoral Fellows Patricia Ekpo, Sarah Richter, María Gloria Robalino, and Eda Tarak.

Roundtable participants addressed forms of writing at the edge of life. They considered modes of writing and artistic form that can respond to our current moment of racial capital, colonial enclosure and ecological devastation--inclusive of daily calamities and resurfacing joys. Dissolution, disturbance, and deformation were keywords for this coming together.

Featured speakers:

  • Susana Draper (Princeton University)
  • Avery Gordon (University of California, Santa Barbara)
  • Tyrone S. Palmer (Wesleyan University)
  • Kali Rubaii (Purdue University)
